Kyoto University is located in northeastern Kyoto, approximately 30 minutes (7 km) from JR Kyoto Station and 20–30 minutes (4 km) from Shijō Kawaramachi. From Kansai International Airport (KIX), the journey takes about 2–2.5 hours by JR Limited Express HARUKA or Airport Limousine Bus.
From the Kansai International Airport (KIX), you can reach Kyoto University via either the JR Express Train "HARUKA" or the Airport Limousine Bus.
Transportation Tips
Taxis, Uber (licensed taxis), and the GO Taxi app are available in Kyoto. A taxi from Kyoto Station to Kyoto University costs approximately ¥3,000. Kyoto City Bus Route 206 can be crowded during the day; the HOOP Bus or Kyoto City Subway is recommended for a more comfortable journey.International participants are advised to check Japanese visa requirements based on their nationality and country of residence.
